Job Description
We are seeking a Harness Design Engineer to support the design and integration of electrical harness systems for a space vehicle program. This role is part of a new R&D program at the Navy Research Lab. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to ensure the correct implementation and integration of various vehicle components.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical harnesses for spacecraft systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.Create and maintain schematics, diagrams, and 3D harness models using the Cadence Suite.Collaborate closely with systems engineers, designers, avionics, and manufacturing teams to support end-to-end design.Support design reviews, part selection, grounding and shielding strategies, and documentation release.Provide troubleshooting support for harness-related issues.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.5 years of experience in spacecraft or aerospace applications, such as aircraft, missile systems, and payloads.Ability to start with a Secret Clearance and willingness to upgrade to Top Secret with SCI.Experience with the Cadence Suite, including OrCAD and PSpice, for harness design.Proficiency in using Excel to generate Net-List.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in generating Bill of Materials.Knowledge of environmental requirements for spaceflight hardware.Work Environment
This position offers a flexible schedule, with most team members starting at 6am and leaving around 2:30pm from the lab. You will work alongside brilliant engineers and scientists, with some hybrid flexibility available during certain phases of the role.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $62.50/hr.
