Hardware Reliability Technical Lead Manager
Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Hardware Engineering or equivalent practical experience. + 8 years of experience in applying Design for Reliability techniques, and working on multiple consumer electronics products. + 4 years of experience managing a technical team. + Experience with a range of reliability test methods; ALT; statistical data analysis and predictive modeling (Weibull, JMP, Minitab). Preferred qualifications: + Master's degree or PhD in Hardware Engineering. + Experience in display module technology and reliability with a proven track record of solving complex display-related reliability challenges. + Experience on key module integration (audio, sensor, haptic, camera, etc). + Experience in failure analysis techniques (e.g., optical microscopy, SEM/EDX, FTIR, X-ray, cross-sectioning). + Understanding of various display technologies (LCD, OLED, MicroLED), display manufacturing processes, and common failure mechanisms. As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in creating new consumer electronic products that meet a high bar for reliability and performance. You will work closely with the product management and design engineering teams to define standards, specify tests, and then supervise test execution and failure analysis. A broad engineering background and command of statistical methods will help to inform design of new products. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be key to ensuring adoption of your technical recommendations. In this role, you will lead the display module reliability efforts while also overseeing a team of reliability engineers focused on other critical modules such as audio, sensors, haptics, and cameras. You will be a recognized domain expert in display module technology and its associated reliability mechanisms, possessing a deep understanding of display panel technologies (LCD, OLED, MicroLED), manufacturing processes, and failure modes. You will be a strong leader who can set strategic direction, drive technical excellence, and foster a collaborative environment across diverse module reliability teams The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Define, develop, and implement comprehensive reliability test plans for display modules throughout the product lifecycle. + Lead failure analysis investigations for display-related reliability issues, utilize advanced investigative techniques to identify root causes and drive corrective actions. + Manage, mentor, and grow a team of highly skilled hardware reliability engineers specializing in various critical modules (e.g., audio, sensors, haptics, camera). Provide technical guidance, strategic direction, and career development opportunities for team members. + Partner with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to implementDesign for Reliability principles and ensure robust display module designs. + Oversee the development and execution of reliability test plans for all assigned modules, ensure alignment with overall product reliability goals. Allocate resources effectively, manage project timelines, and prioritize tasks to meet product development milestones.
