Mission of the Role
Experienced technical leader adept at leading strategic program management, who drives complex HW projects throughout program lifecycle, ensuring successful execution, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. 
This role works with the larger team to surpass customer expectations in cost, quality, and delivery on HW projects while meeting financial objectives.
Be the Hardware Project Manager for HW Swim Lane working with a Program Management mindset in close collaboration with HW Swim Lane Leaders having the responsibility to successfully deliver the objectives of the project on HW area and acting as main Customer Program Management interface for the HW Swim Lane.

Develop and maintain control over all the Program Management elements of HARDWARE Swim Lane, e.g.:
Project level Timing plan & Strategy to meet the defined Visteon and Customer milestones.
VPDS Process Compliance, e.g., Gate Deliverables, PAD, Vistway, ASPICE.
Risks, Defects, Quality indicators & Escalations.
Budget and Staff Planning.
VPDS and Vistway assigned to Hardware Project Manager.

Manages and coordinates one or more HW projects.
Manages Customer and Visteon HW milestones and deliverables, coordinating development activities with
HW Swim Lane leader.
Owns Budget for HW activities.
Forecast HW activities and load in eproj after approval (PIC/Gate) and keep it updated.
Plans with Program Lead and other project managers and aligns milestones to achieve program goals.
Supports/aligns other projects activities (issue HW BOM identifying items readiness for sourcing, estimates
changes impact, communicate sample delivery requirements, among others).
Manages estimation (CBOM) and sourcing activities with Program buyers for Hardware BOM.
Work with the Configuration & Integration Project Manager to achieve master samples from suppliers.
Ensure timely supplier/component qualification (PPAP), eliminating roadblocks, in line with Customer
milestones.

Key Accountabilities
Product Development Hardware Execution and Monitoring
Lead & drive project execution and monitoring progress, and track internal & external milestones and deliverables, to ensure timely delivery, cost optimization, & quality outcomes including process compliance. Work closely with the HW Swim Lane leader and program teams, promoting effective decision-making, leading with a structured approach to problem solving and triggering preventive actions at project level. Owns Project Budget for HW activities, monitoring Budget execution and staff. Plans with other project managers and aligns milestones to achieve program goals. Supports other program activities (other skills) in alignment with other project managers.


Customer Focus
Proactively building and maintaining strong relationships with Customers and Cross Functional stakeholders as the primary contact for end-to-end program-related activities, using impactful communication across different functions. Be the primary contact for the Customer for HW related topics.
Change Management
Effectively evaluating and communicating the impacts of changes on timelines, resources, and costs supporting the Project Manager responsible of changes management, and executing program changes as necessary.,
Risk Management
Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks to minimize their impact on project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Managing escalations (internal & external)
Innovation and Technology Adoption
Identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends to enhance project management effectiveness and efficiency.


Specific responsibilities for the project HW
Lead tasks and deliver outputs according to the VPDS by Maturity Phases, e.g.:
Implementation Plan based on Maturity Steps.
HW Budget control and monitoring
Load HW activities forecast in eproj after approval (PIC/Gate) and keep it updated.
Support / review Problem Solving / 8D Response
Track and support resolution and / or escalation of Project Engineering & Mfg. Open Issues
Track and Resolve Target Objectives (Customer Compliance Matrix, agreed Maturity Level)
Follow Project Management Process and Tools.
Drive work item status update in the central planning database (eP, JIRA).
Responsible to execute the Epics is JIRA defined by Program Manager and drill down the activities
Create Stories and Actions as necessary to achieve the Epic objectives and deadline.

Work with Hardware Swim Lane Leader on an accurate estimation of changes impact on the skill areas.

Qualification, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferable in Electrical area
Several years of professional experience in program & project management,
including at least six years in the automotive industry
Experience in leading bigger development teams located in different countries
Know-how in project management (ideally PRINCE / PMP)
Excellent understanding of development and production processes within the automotive industry,
with experience in Hardware design and Testing
Leadership, entrepreneurial thinking and assertiveness
High level of autonomy and accountability
Strong project management discipline – Planning & Execution, Communication, Strategy
Strong communication skills, high customer orientation and team spirit
Analytical-structured expertise
Knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project + JIRA
Fluent in English
