Job Description
The Hardware Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the structural and electronic design of UAV systems and ensuring seamless integration of all subsystems through established systems engineering processes. This role collaborates closely with both local and global engineering teams and reports directly to the Director of Engineering.
MUST HAVE:
Experience with UAV or robotics platformsCatia V5ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a growing hardware engineering team.Oversee the development and design of UAS structural components and manufacturing tools, preferably using CATIA V5.Guide the design and development of UAS electronics and PCBs.Approve technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.Ensure effective integration of subsystems and payloads into UAS platforms.Support prototype construction, testing, and transition to small-series production.Coordinate efforts across local and international engineering teams.Contribute to the development of global engineering standards and process improvements.Maintain product lifecycle, including upgrades, certification, and technical support.Essential SkillsExpertise in End-to-End Development Cycle from initial concept through production and into sustainment.Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics; ability to create them is a plus.Experience with UAV or robotics platforms.Proficiency in CATIA V5.Understanding of blueprint drawings, hardware design, PCB design, and layout.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.Proven experience leading engineering teams in a hardware-focused environment.Proficiency in CAD development and working within a PLM system.Strong working knowledge of CATIA V5 and plastic manufacturing processes.Familiarity with UAS components including motor controllers, BMS, and RF systems.Excellent communication, project coordination, and team leadership skills.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in Moorpark, CA, and involves working closely with both local and global engineering teams. The work environment emphasizes collaboration and innovation, with a focus on developing and integrating advanced UAV systems. The position requires proficiency in using CAD software, specifically CATIA V5, and involves both design and documentation tasks. The candidate will be expected to support prototype construction and transition to production in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $180000.00/yr.
