The **Hardware Engineering directorate** leads in the hardware design, development, and production of weapons systems. We use state-of-the-art tools, processes, and technology, with capabilities encompassing a broad range of technical disciplines, including product engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials engineering, analysis and test, rapid hardware development/builds and configuration and data management documentation.
This role is for a **Lab Lead** to support Portsmouth, RI Hardware Engineering labs. In this role, you will manage and implement engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions within multiple engineering labs, with specific focus on safety, security, and compliance using established doctrine and governance. You will be creative and innovative, possessing strong organizational, coordination, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. In this position, you must be able to collaborate with customers, employees, and senior leaders when implementing process and procedural changes.
This position is an **onsite role in Portsmouth, RI** covering multiple labs.
**What You Will Do**
+ Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies
+ Management coordination and implementation of Environmental Health Safety and Sustainment
+ Property & Metrology Management including maintenance of equipment service contracts and ongoing equipment repairs
+ Perform cost analysis, ensure task completion within approved budgets
+ Provide process support to Supply Chain Management (SCM)
+ Oversee audit/assessment preparation. Oversee Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives, including engineering customer goals
+ Safeguard of classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations
+ Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management
+ Work to influence stakeholders within and outside responsible area at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures
+ Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem solving
+ Provide technical support to programs including cable builds, CCA build and troubleshooting, mechanical assembly
+ This position requires some physical exertion while standing, sitting, or walking, working outside.
**Qualifications You Must Have**
+ Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience to include any combination of the following:
+ Experience in an engineering lab environment area such as: safety, security, compliance and/or property management
+ Process creation and management for an Engineering or similar environment.
+ Managing Environmental Health and Safety standards.
**Qualifications We Prefer**
+ Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills
+ Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations
+ Experience with working directly with engineers, technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance and property management
+ Experience with EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN and Foreign Object Elimination
+ Experience with cable builds, CCA assembly, and mechanical assembly
+ Solder experience
+ Experience building positive, lasting relationships with customers
+ Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
