Job Description
Work independently to design hardware and perform circuit design for new product development projects. Test designs for EMC and conduct root cause analysis. Collaborate with suppliers who provide microcontrollers. This position involves 85% hardware design for new products, 5% modifying C code, and 10% doing PCB design and layout in Altium. This is a long-term position requiring onsite work 3-4 days per week in downtown Milwaukee, with some work involving designs for 120-230 volts.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in the development of firmware for electrically integrated products, including motor control and safety features.Work with colleagues using modern embedded systems engineering processes, controls, and tools to create high-quality, robust, and reliable electronic hardware and firmware.Ensure that all electronic hardware and firmware are developed adhering to the engineering controls.Participate in Design Reviews, DFMEA, SFMEA of controls, Risk Analysis, and validation testing in the development lab.Assist in Advanced Engineering Technology development for future NPD projects.Essential Skills5+ years of recent hardware and circuit design experience for new product development projects.Ability to work onsite 3-4 days per week.Experience in modifying C code and conducting PCB design and layout.Experience in root cause analysis and testing components.Experience with designs involved in EMC tests.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in PCB design and layout using Altium.Knowledge of microcontroller integration.Work Environment
The role requires working onsite in downtown Milwaukee 3-4 days a week. The work environment involves using modern engineering tools and processes to develop high-quality hardware and firmware. Some projects may involve working with voltage designs ranging from 120 to 230 volts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr.
