Job Duties: Evaluate reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plan, design and develop electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, optical systems and/or DSP systems. Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic, electromechanical or mechanical components, assemblies or integrated circuitry for hardware systems for the external market. Includes new design, as well as modification activities that results in significant product enhancement. Activities encompass design, analysis, testing and process development using engineering principles and methods. Technical disciplines may include electrical and logical design of printed circuits; mechanical design or electronics enclosures or integrated circuit packaging; and embedded software/firmware design. May work at various unanticipated locations throughout U.S. May telecommute. (385.29499)
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field followed by 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a Hardware Developer-related occupation. Position requires:
1. Product safety standards for IT equipment and associated product safety design principles;
2. Product compliance with domestic and global product safety standards and regulations;
3. Pre-compliance and final Safety test evaluations of the product using Lab facilities;
4. Hardware development teams of non-compliance and present redesign options;
5. Formal reports and test data to various regulatory safety agencies and secure certifications;
6. Test programs and criteria for new development and released products as well as provide cost estimates and lead times for all work with Agencies;
7. Liquid cooled cable certification process for electric vehicle supply equipment testing/certification standards; and
8. Testing and evaluating battery technologies for products.
