Job Responsibilities:

POSITION OVERVIEW

This person is accountable for retrieving raw material from home locations and delivering it to assembly lines/presses in order to meet production as well as delivering finished goods to the warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms shift pre-inspections as outlined by Ontario Health and Safety Act (OHSA), on all material handling equipment.Ensures material handling equipment and batteries are maintained and charged based on the manufactures guidelines and recommendations, and department standards.Ensure that bins, etc., are available to press operators according to schedule.Remove old labels from empty returnable containers for finished goods.Remove scrap, cardboard and garbage from the line area and dispose of it according to procedures provided.Straightening skids, boxes, and bins throughout the plant, removing labels and debris from empty customer totes.Verify finished goods tote quantity match master label.Operate Industrial Sit-Down and Reach type forklift and ensure it is in good working order.Update/complete all material handling equipment checklists and forwards to appropriate person/departmentPerforms material handling function as part of the die setting teamEmpty scrap containers, remove and transport full parts bins to appropriate location and provide empty parts bins to work stationsMaintain records (scanning) for material moves as requiredSupport Tool Room by bringing in and taking out diesLoading dies into and removing dies from pressesPerform / support die changeoversKeep work area organized and participates in the departments housekeeping efforts pro-actively and as directedUse material handling equipment in a diligent, responsible and safe mannerFollow all departmental procedures and material handling work instructions.Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it effects quality and the environment for our customersQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Less than 1 year of work-related experienceMinimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalency preferredMust be certified to operate Lift Truck and Crane within three (3) months of hire.
