Overview Start Date: October 1, 2025 End Date: May 31, 2026 La Quinta Resort and Club, located in La Quinta, California, seeks eighteen (18) full-time, temporary Stewards who will be responsible for washing dishes and all cooking materials by machine or hand at La Quinta Resort and Club’s property. Essential Functions Washes dishes and other cooking utensils. Restocks all clean glasses, silverware and plates. Performs general cleaning to stay in compliance with the health department. Puts away food stock, and dry goods in their proper location, rotating “first in”, “first out”. Removes the trash from all containers, taking it to the dumpster located on the loading dock. Maintains and cleans kitchen work areas and equipment, assisting with event set-up and breakdown, sweeping and scrubbing floors and mats, vacuuming, preparing. Stewards will deliver banquet food and utensils to the banquet room and bring items back to kitchen to wash. Will report directly to the Executive Steward at La Quinta Resort and Club. Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the requirements of the company. Perform general/routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned to adhere to health standards. Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning up unexpected spills or executing special guest requests. Experience Three (3) months of experience at a high-end hotel, resort, or private club required. Applicants must complete pre-employment background check at employer’s expense. On-the-job training is provided. Schedule 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shifts: 5:00am – 12:00pm or 4:00pm – 11:00pm. Shift hours may vary. Housing Optional housing is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis for workers who are relocating to begin employment. The cost of housing is $250.00 per bi-weekly pay period. If used, the total cost of housing will be deducted from paycheck. A refundable security deposit of $250.00 is required upon acceptance of housing per person, to be paid directly to La Quinta Resort and Club. The security deposit will be returned to the employee, based on the condition of the housing and at the employer’s sole discretion, at the end of the employment period. Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $18.35/Hr. - $18.35/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
