As a member of the Global Workforce Operations team, the GWO Specialist is responsible for executing primarily on Payroll, Data & Reporting, and other HR services, utilizing an in-depth understanding of relevant systems, processes and policies. This role requires emphasis on data integrity and analysis to support key HR decisions. Identify and resolve operational issues and support process improvement. The GWO Specialist will assist with reconciling third party systems against internal HR systems. The position will ensure the integrity of the employee data which resides in the payroll, PeopleSoft and other systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

Payroll

Day-to-day operation of payroll related tasks, working closely with Avery Dennison & its outsourced payroll partner(s) as applicable to ensuring quality inputs and outputsSupport local HR, managers and employees with payroll and HR processesResearch complex payroll and timekeeping issues. Provide resolution to payroll team, HR, and department leadershipProvide analysis, testing, and training as needed to support department initiatives.

Data & Reporting 

Provide advice on standard suite of reports to field HR, Managers and other stakeholders Handle and develop non-standard reports requested through the service delivery platformDrive increased productivity and compliance through process improvements, standardization and simplification with external partners and businessesActs as an IT liaison for HR/Payroll business processes and makes recommendations for systems automation activities and continuous efficiency improvementsPartnering with Finance and ensuring that payments (salaries, statutory and third-party) are executed accurately and within the required timeframes.Maintain high standards of accuracy, timeliness and quality to ensure compliance with relevant legal and Avery Dennison policy requirementsDevelop effective relationships with stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills and proactive communicationProvide ad-hoc operational support for assigned processesDocuments all HRIS, Payroll, and master database process flows and updates as process, vendors and applications are revisedEnsures efficiency of the technology in the support of employee transaction processesHandles internal and external audit work and ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls where applicableEnsures payroll and associated processed are delivered accurately and on time, every time.

Employee Inquiry Support

Assisting with and becoming an expert at resolving employee inquiriesPreparing and creating the necessary data & documentation for processing changes into the HR System Executing PeopleSoft Data TransactionsRespond to questions on administrative HR procedures and practices via multiple channels within Servicenow (e. g., email, phone, chat, and case management system)Answer HR -related questions, provide guidance to both managers and employees, and escalate as appropriateEducate employees of services available to them and encourage self-service tools and other systemsEnsure high-quality standards for all GWO activities, initiatives, and tasks within designated areas of responsibility, adhering to all service-level agreements established by the GWO organizationIdentify outdated knowledge articles and/or the need to create new knowledge articles.

Degree from a relevant field of study (Graduate / Post Graduate with Specialization in HR)5 to 7 Year experience in HR/payroll preferably from HRshared services background or from payroll firmPayroll processing experience for South Asia countries (Sri Lanka, Bangladesh , Pakistan, India) will be an added advantageStrong written and oral communication skillsUnderstands HR processes, needs and functions. Accurately and effectively communicates stakeholder needs to bridge the gap between HR responsibilities/needs and systems developmentAbility to generate a sense of urgency with understanding of when to escalate issuesAbility to handle diverse and confidential information requiring extreme accuracy, independent judgment and discretionAbility to document processes and make recommendations for improvementsFlexibility and the willingness to cover other tasks as needed, and adapt to ongoing changesSelf-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a teamStrong analytical skills with proven ability to organize and analyze dataMaintains confidentiality and applies discretion where requiredService orientated and passionate about enhancing the employee experience.
