Gunsan Production Engineer

Position summary: Production engineer 
According to the guidance from supervisor, the agreed production plans, allocate the resources and duties, organize, implement, monitor and adjust the general production activities to conduct production tasks in quality and quantity, including direction to guide the production activities through the production superintendents and the shift supervisors. 
 
Main Tasks: 
Production arrangement 
• Arrange the production activities, including trial production, according to the production cycle, plan and deadline etc. once a month and adjust it every week or day if necessary. 
• Prioritize and direct production activities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. 
• Recommend to supervisor revised production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems. 

 

Planning and budgeting 
• Consolidate and analyze the production data to support the development of strategy and annual budget to ensure the production development able to meet company objectives. 

 

Production process monitoring 
• Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specification and operating or production problems.  
• Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. 
• Report to supervisor any major problems and if time allows, obtain approval before major corrective action/ modifications taken. 

 

Production material management
• Manage the dispersal and distribution of materials for production, make suggestions and recommendations for control over material handling, transportation, storage and inventory to supervisor and logistics, production planning department to ensure smooth production. 

 

Maintenance and repairing 
• Interface and consult with engineering personnel relative to maintenance and repairing schedules, actions, including modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products. 


Improvement of efficiency 
• Interface and coordinate relevant departments (e.g. technical/process, logistics, purchasing, utility supply, etc.) to ensure sufficient supply of raw materials and to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment. 
 
Production documentation 
• Oversee the administration (compilation, maintenance, updating, retrieval and distribution) of production data to ensure an updated database in an easily assessable (integrated computerized) system. 
• Provide updated records/data to relevant parties to support a smooth cooperation and effective communication among all relevant departments. 

 

Safety and housekeeping 
• According to corporate, company and statutory EHS requirements, implement the relevant safety and environment protection policies and procedures by seeking consultation from EHS Manager, including enforcement in the observation of all company’s operations, safety and housekeeping guidelines to maintain a working environment that supports work safety and production activities. 

 

People management 
• Be responsible for the general management of production manpower, e.g. staffing, performance appraisal, motivation, training in the department. 
• Conducts hearings to resolve or effect settlement of grievances and consult Human Resources function as appropriate. 


 
Education/Qualifications required: 
• Bachelor’s degree or above 
• Major in Food Engineering or Chemical Engineering related 
• More than 3 years of work experience in chemical plant or relevant field(Preferred) 
• Fluent in English both spoken and written and Native level of Korean.
• Evidence of TOEIC or TOEIC speaking or equivalent test score(Required) 
• Familiar with Office software, another computer skill is plus 
• Good communication skills and team working
