The Guidance Assistant assists in the school guidance program by providing individual and/or small group instruction to pupils; maintain manual or computerized records; assist school staff with pupil discipline problems; contact parents, pupils, and district staff. The following Guidance Assistant openings are currently available: Rolando Park Elementary - 6620 Marlowe Drive San Diego, CA 92115 (Area F) Scheduled for 10 months per year, 16 hours per week School website: Rolando Park Elementary Foster Elementary-6550 51st St, San Diego CA 92120 (Area D) Schedules for 10 months per year, 16.5 hours per week. School website: Foster Elementary Vista Grande Elementary- 5606 Antigua Blvd San Diego, CA 92124 (Area D) Schedules for 10 months per year, 24 hours per week. Current opening is located at Rolando Park Elementary School 10 months per year / 16 hours per day This recruitment will be used to establish an Eligibility List for the current vacancies shown below as well as any future vacancies. This list will be active for three (3) months with the possibility to be extended. Position Schedule (for any future vacancies): Positions in this classification typically work 10 months of the year. Set schedules for positions in this classification might vary but are typically 15-40 hours per week. Positions greater than 20 hours per week qualify for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employees and dependents. Some positions within this classification may require the incumbent to be Bilingual in English/Spanish. Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential. This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly-salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to one year of experience working with children in counseling or guidance services.
