Job Description:
Full Time/ 40 hours weekly
First shift
Facilitates communication between patients, family, and staff, including resolution of patient/family concerns and issues. Is responsible for notification of family members regarding status of surgical patient updates. Must have a high level of communication skills to effectively communicate with physicians, families, and other clinical staff. Must be able to recognize signs of potential issues within patients and/or family members.
Essential Duties:
Prepares daily tracking log for surgery check ins in waiting roomGreets and directs visitors and families.Answers telephone and provides/relays messages.Maintains patient confidentiality.Assists with directing patients and families to pre-op.Relays updated information to families throughout the entire time the patient is in pre-op, surgery and phase 1 post-op.Escorts families to consult rooms to meet with physicians.Assists patients, families, and visitors with hospital-related concerns, questions, and/or problems.Promotes cross-departmental communication, collaboration, and performance improvement as a means of achieving patient and family centered care.Requirements:
High School /GEDOne year of secretarial experience is preferred.Experience in healthcare/ medical terminology preferredBenefits:
