The GTEC Manufacturing Engineering role is responsible for providing flexible capacity to manufacturing sites to help them to assess their operational performance, to adopt enterprise best practices for manufacturing engineering processes and systems, and to improve quality of manufacturing engineering outputs. This role will be involved in contributing to router quality improvement, establishing systems to collect and report operational metrics such as OEE, driving the adoption of standardized manufacturing performance metrics, helping sites with deployment and adoption of enterprise CNC programming tools and practices and similar activities as requested by the Platform Operations leaders. The successful candidate will be an effective change agent, able to collaborate well with site personnel to understand their current practices and to drive adoption of best practices.
The position will be located at the Shared Service Center in Torreon location.
This position is used to provide manufacturing engineering resources to augment at Flowserve sites to help to drive data gathering and analysis of current site manufacturing systems and processes and to help to identify and deploy applicable enterprise best practices to improve manufacturing performance at these sites in alignment with business priorities. This role will provide support as needed to Flowserve manufacturing sites across the Americas including on-site work for extended periods (1 to 2 months).
Principal Accountabilities:
Contribute to the Flowserve safety culture while working at assigned sites, ensuring personal and plant safety through full compliance with Flowserve policies and procedures.
Travel to Flowserve Americas manufacturing sites as requested by the site leadership to perform role responsibilities.
Collaborate with site Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement team members to perform root cause analyses at sites to help to identify underlying issues contributing to performance gaps of manufacturing systems.
Drive improvement in quality of manufacturing engineering deliverables such as routers by collecting data on current router quality, helping to establish templates and work instructions for improved routers, and contributing to the creation and/or revision of new and existing routers.
Help sites to set-up and operate data collection systems to gather data necessary for critical manufacturing performance metrics to maximize utilization of Flowserve capacity. Contribute to the deployment of monitoring systems and dashboards to report this data in alignment with enterprise standards and to use this data to drive performance improvements.
Assist sites with the deployment and adoption of enterprise CNC programming tools and associated processes to manage CNC programs.
Ability to handle sensitive issues, navigate tricky conflicts using fact-based decision making to objectively eliminate workplace conflicts and boost the teams morale.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering or technical manufacturing degree with minimum 3 years of industrial experience.
Effective change management skills with the ability to drive acceptance and sustained adoption of enterprise best practices across all levels of the organization
Good communication and organizational skills with the ability to work well with all levels of employees and internal departments in a diverse environment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Fluent in English, both conversational and written
Able to travel to Flowserve sites in the Americas for extended periods of 1 to 2 months.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Lean certification (green belt or black belt)
Has understanding and hands on experience in the following:
Enterprise ERP systems, SAP S4/Hana, Great Plains and Oracle
Enterprise system to track labor Mii
Computer-Aided-Manufacturing software, preferably Esprit
Computer-Aided-Engineering software, preferably Solidworks to support facility layouts and Model based design to enable feature based machining
Advanced project management tools, methods and applications
Multi-machinery manufacturing methods and tools: assembly, welding, machining, painting, hydraulics
Engineering documentation and geometric dimensions and tolerancing (GD&T)
Exposure to Time/Methods Study Techniques (activity analysis)
