Role Summary/Purpose
The Mechanical Engineer for Enclosure & Accessories Systems will work on design and development of GE Heavy duty Gas Turbine (GT) Enclosure systems, covering all frames for 50 Hz and 60 Hz (6B, 6F, 7H, 9F, 9H).This role covers mainly requisition delivery, sourcing and supplier support/qualification, site support to solve issues. Depending on its development and autonomy, sub-contractor role could be extended to all stages of the product life cycle, adding new development NPI, ITO support up to the transfer to Services team at COD (Commercial Operating Date). This role can support transverse work on Enclosure Ventilation with Building Services team.This role can support CFD studies, structures calculation and design.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver requisition on time and with expected Quality level on projects.NPI deliverables & other key activities related to Enclosure & Accessories Systems.Generate documentation including equipment arrangement drawings, layouts, piping and instrumentation diagrams and datasheets. Use & develop expertise in Structural design and proficiency in using tools to develop and validate the designs.Support FEA, CFD aero-thermal studies related to enclosures, AM modules and skids enclosures, support needed by teams across Combined Cycle Plant. Provide input/support Maintenance of the standard configurations and GBOM.Ability to work closely with other CTH (Consulting and Principal Engineers) & Technical Leaders to maintain team synergies, lessons learned and best practices.Interact and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, advanced technologies, gas turbine & systems engineering.Coordinate with vendors to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications. Resolving Issues such as Non-Conformance, Supplier Deviation, and Request For Information.Document design work clearly and meticulously.Prioritize and plan the tasks to efficiently manage and deliver thereby also meeting On Time Delivery (Schedule) and First Pass Yield (Quality).Understand Gas Turbine design and the various products in the portfolio.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Customer interview as applicable.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / Structural Engineering.Minimum 6 years of experience in steam/gas/nuclear power plantMinimum 3+ Years of experience in Design and Detail EngineeringBasic knowledge on Power plant components and its functioning. Good Knowledge of GD&T and welding standards (AWS preferred)Problem solving skills. Ability to work with Cross Functional teams.Good Communication SkillsDESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to effectively present information to project and functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.Ability to synthesize information from different engineering disciplines.TOOL SKILLS REQUIRED
