Summary\/Objective \n

The GSE mechanic is responsible for providing preventative maintenance, major and minor repairs on all types of ground service equipment while also supporting aircraft ground handling, fueling operations, and customer service.\n

Responsibilities and Duties \n\nPerform scheduled preventive maintenance on company ground equipment.\nPerform complex repairs on vehicles, both electrical and mechanical.\nService fuel farm equipment.\nPerform diagnostic procedures (including electrical) on vehicles and equipment to determine repair needs.\nOrder, receive, and inventory parts and supplies.\nKeep maintenance records of all equipment and report any heavy maintenance requirements to management and communicate as needed with contract maintenance personnel.\nSupport aircraft ground operations, including movement, placement, fueling, and storage.\nPerform daily inspections and upkeep of crew cars, company vehicles, and facility equipment.\nAssist with facility maintenance to ensure a clean, safe, and functional environment.\nProvide exceptional customer service while promoting company services.\nParticipate in monthly crew meetings and complete annual recurrent training.\nCollaborate with line service technicians on ramp operations.\n\n

Competencies \n\nAbility to interpret printed and computerized maintenance manuals.\nFamiliar with various maintenance tooling, jacks, overhead cranes, hoists, and other required tools.\nAbility to write legibly to complete forms\/paperwork as required.\nStrong communication skills, ability to communicate with customers and employees in person, on phone, and through radio communications.\nMust be able to operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by our insurance company (Requires clean driving record)\nStrong computer skills including Microsoft office products.\nBasic mathematical knowledge\nBi-lingual preferred\n\n

Work Environment\n

This position works outside in all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. This position may be exposed to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.\n

Physical Demands \n

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, to include but not limited to:\n\nMust be able to lift 75 pounds occasionally and\/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently.\nPossible exposure to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery\nOutside work in all types of weather conditions.\nPosition requires bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping, and climbing a ladder.\n\n

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work\n

This is an exempt position. This position includes shift work which requires working evenings and weekends, and on scheduled company holidays.\n

Travel\n

This position requires occasional travel between company-operated Fixed Base Operations (FBOs) located in El Paso, Texas; Santa Teresa, New Mexico; and Las Cruces, New Mexico. Travel may be necessary to support operational needs, attend training, or assist with equipment and service coordination across locations.\n

Education, Experience, and Eligibility Qualifications\n\nFour (4) years on the job experience as a vehicle technician preferred.\nASE certification and diesel engine certification preferred.\nTwo (2) years technical accredited training-ground service equipment maintenance preferred.\nPrior aircraft ground handling experience preferred.\nCustomer service experience in the service industry preferred.\nAbility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.\nAcceptable driving record.\nAbility to pass a background check.\nZero tolerance drug free employer includes pre-employment and random screening.\n\n
