This role reports to our Growth Initiatives & Special Projects Leader and will partner with colleagues across the organization helping them identify, evaluate, prioritize, and deliver strategic initiatives for Guardian. As a Growth Initiatives and Special Projects Associate, you will work on the highly visible Enterprise Strategy & Corporate Development Team, which is responsible for overseeing the enterprise strategy for the organization as well as working with the businesses to lead strategic initiatives and strategic transactions from development to assessment and implementation.
Guardian has set out an ambitious growth strategy over the next 5 years, referred to as our Journey to ’30. This strategy focuses on continuing the growth of our Group, Financial Protection & Retirement Solutions, and Client Solutions & Wealth Management business lines to diversify our product portfolio, increase our distribution footprint, grow our customer base, and leverage technology, data, and AI as a strategic enabler. This growth strategy requires ongoing transformation across the enterprise, including both the business lines and corporate functions.
**You will**
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of high-priority projects spanning across strategy, corporate development, and strategic initiatives:
+ Support the assessment and development of business cases for new ideas driving growth and innovation, including researching industry peers, assessing specific opportunities, supporting due diligence, performing financial analysis/evaluation, and preparing PowerPoint presentations for internal executives
+ Partner with leaders within the Enterprise Strategy & Corporate Development team to help facilitate enterprise alignment for identified initiatives and tactical plans for execution, alongside business leaders and key stakeholders
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support transactions and post-closing deal integration
+ Support the identification, framing and implementation of cross-cutting strategic initiatives that are critical to the success of Guardian’s overall strategy; Support in managing the business performance and transition of executed initiatives (e.g., implement and manage processes to monitor business transition and performance, develop and monitor metrics and goals for business areas aligned with strategic plan, and support decision framework to allocate and re-prioritize resources as required to achieve vision & strategy)
+ Develop expertise in a variety of functions and businesses
+ Gain exposure to other roles and lines of business in the company
+ Receive direct mentorship and coaching from experienced leaders across areas such as strategy, transactions, problem-solving, analytics, communication, and leadership development

**You have**
+ Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment and the ability to navigate relationships across all levels of the organization
+ Experience helping shape the direction initiatives by creating clarity and structure
+ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
+ Strong command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
+ 3+ years’ experience working in roles related to strategy consulting, business management or transformation and operational experience within a financial services or consulting firm
+ Experience with financial services, a plus but not required
+ Experience managing complex projects and/or timelines
+ Bachelor’s degree from a top institution with strong academic performance and demonstrated leadership ability
**Location**
Hybrid role - 3 days in the Hudson Yards, NYC office. 2 days WFH
**Salary Range:**
$93,080.00 - $152,915.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
