Position Overview
The HPE Tandem SERVER SME (Subject Matter Expert) and Track Lead will play a critical role within our IT department, providing expert-level knowledge and leadership in the management and optimization of HPE Tandem servers. This role requires a deep understanding of HPE Tandem systems, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of IT professionals.

Key Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expertise

Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary technical expert on HPE Tandem servers, providing guidance and support for all related projects and initiatives. System Optimization: Analyze current HPE Tandem server configurations and operational practices, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and security. Troubleshooting: Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues related to HPE Tandem servers, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of HPE Tandem server configurations, procedures, and best practices to support ongoing operations and future upgrades.

Track Leadership

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects related to HPE Tandem servers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines. Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate project status, risks, and issues to key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with business objectives. Training and Development: Identify skill gaps within the team and provide training and development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement and knowledge growth.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A masters degree is preferred. Professional Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of experience working with HPE Tandem servers, with at least 3 years in a leadership or SME role. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as HP ASE - NonStop, HP ATP - NonStop, or similar are highly desirable.

Technical Skills

Deep Knowledge: Extensive experience with HPE Tandem hardware and software, including system configuration, performance tuning, and security management. Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used with HPE Tandem systems, such as TAL, COBOL, and C/C . Database Management: Strong knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) used on HPE Tandem servers, such as SQL/MP and SQL/MX. Network Configuration: Familiarity with network protocols and configuration as they relate to HPE Tandem environments.

Leadership and Soft Skills

Strong Leadership: Proven track record of leading and managing a team of IT professionals, with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues. Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience in planning, executing, and monitoring IT projects to successful completion.
