The Senior Associate Creative Director leads internal teams and external agencies in the development of merchandise collections, creation of product and art direct concepts across a wide-range of channels and markets. The ACD brings an inspiring team-first attitude and is equally comfortable pitching concepts and guiding the ideas of others into brilliant and impactful creative assets. They will leverage their deep background in trend, form / product design, graphic & brand design, and retail experience, to bring the Starbucks brand to life in innovative ways, while ensuring we show up consistently and effectively for our customers.

As a Senior Associate Creative Director of Merchandise, you will…

Lead creative concepting, art direction and execution, ensuring a cohesive and elevated brand expression across channels and platforms, specifically for merchandise design Provide clear and constructive creative direction, delivering feedback to strengthen the work and inspire creative teams and agencies Architect and delivers impactful presentations that demonstrate strong strategic foundations and creative vision. Present creative work to internal teams, cross-functional partners, and executives– clearly articulating creative rationale Work with project managers to co-create a strategic approach for optimal concepting and execution that ensures schedules are accurate, realistic and deadlines are met. Continuously seeks out and embraces the opportunity to enhance the brand. Collaborates with peers Creative Studio leadership to define new processes and optimize ways of working. Manage a team of direct reports overseeing their day-to-day workload and guiding their growth and development.

We’d love to hear from people with:

10+ years progressive experience in design/marketing/advertising at an agency or in-house studio Bachelor’s degree in design, fine arts, advertising or equivalent job-related experience A multi-faceted portfolio showcasing high quality creative expertise across a variety of mediums and channels with a focus on merchandise design, problem solving / concepting, product / collection curation, branding, packaging, social media, etc. A comprehensive understanding of omnichannel marketing and cultural/industry trends Strong people skills: able to lead and motivate creative individuals and teams Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite  In addition to minimum skills: working knowledge of 3D rendering programs (adobe) Understanding of form and industrial design, a plus Understanding of fashion and its seasonal cadence, a plus

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

 

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
