Group Fitness Trainer
Job Description Good Shepherd Village in Endwell is looking for an euthanasic Fitness Trainer to join our team! Position Detail Monday - Friday, day shift - mornings. Approximately 20-24 hours per week. Benefits with part-time employment may include; Paid vacation, paid time off (PTO) and Holiday Pay. 403(b) retirement plan. Position Summary The Group Fitness Instructor will assist in ensuring independent residents receive the appropriate guidance in achieving their health and wellness goals. Responsible for creating a safe, innovative and enjoyable exercise experience for residents. Must be able to deliver safe, fun, dynamic and effective group exercise programs, both aquatic and land-based. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities + Exercise prescription based on exercise testing and evaluation of body composition + Develop and instruct aquatic and land-based exercise classes + Promote interest and increase participation through program evaluation and implementation + Assist with special events, health education/promotion & workshops utilizing internal and external resources + Orientation of new Fitness Center participants + Maintain Personal Training clientele + Convey and enforce pool policies and regulations for the safety of residents, staff and guests + Maintain documentation of participants, medical release forms, and personal training sessions + Report resident health concerns to appropriate staff Essential Job Requirements Education: Holds a degree in Exercise Science/Physiology or other related fitness field. (Bachelors preferred or equivalent experience). Certification: Certification from ACSM, AFAA, IDEA, and/or AEA. CPR/AED and First Aid Certification, or successful completion no later than 30 days after employment begins Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age. Ability to read, write and speak the English language Experience: Minimum 1 year of fitness instructor experience.
