Job Title: Group Financial Accountant Location: Manchester Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 Type: Full-time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Group Financial Accountant to join a high-profile retail business based in Manchester. This role offers the chance to play a pivotal part in a dynamic finance function within a well-established company that values innovation, technology, and data-led decision-making.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Monthly Reporting

Lead the monthly consolidation process using FCCS Review submissions from UK and international teams, flagging any issues for resolution Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements for inclusion in the Group Performance Pack Compile monthly cash flow statements Reconcile acquisitions, investments, and fixed assets at month-end

Forecasting & Budgeting

Deliver budgets, forecasts, five-year plans and cash flow projections for JVs, associates, and acquisition-related liabilities

Technical Accounting

Act as the go-to person for IFRS 16 queries and compliance Process acquisition accounting entries through FCCS Analyse the Group’s investment structure (including JVs and associates) and apply appropriate accounting treatments Oversee Fixed Assets and CAPEX reporting

Interim & Year-End Reporting

Prepare consolidated schedules and reports for interim and year-end accounts Manage post-close adjustments and reflect them accurately in consolidated financials Draft detailed notes to the financial statements for multiple areas Provide ad-hoc support during critical reporting periods

What We’re Looking For:

ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) Proven experience preparing financial statements under IFRS Strong working knowledge of a consolidation system (FCCS, HFM, or similar) Background in a complex, matrix-style commercial environment Commercially aware with strong analytic skills and curiosity to dig into the numbers Capable of communicating technical finance matters to non-finance stakeholders
