Hybrid Work Schedule (In Office & Remote)

Work Schedule: Wednesday 10:30am-8:30pm, facilitates 3 groups (1 morning, 1 afternoon, 1 evening)

Primary Functions
Facilitates Kids + The Village Mom and baby support groups virtually or in-person creating a nurturing and confidential space. The Village support groups (The Village and The Village After Hours) aim to support Kids Plus Parents who identify as Moms gain confidence, process their transition to motherhood, reduce isolation and normalize the difficulty of the postpartum period, raise awareness about perinatal mood disorders, build connect to peers, and connect parents to practice resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Passionate about supporting individuals who identify as Moms in the postpartum period, 0-12 months and beyond.
Creates, monitors, and maintains Microsoft Office participant registration forms.
Verifies registrants are KPP families and tracks weekly attendance and trends in group participation.
Effectively communicates about the group with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to writing web and promotional content, creating presentations and visiting offices to educate relevant stakeholders, writing and sending weekly invitations to group registrants, and as needed managing additional individual correspondence and resource sharing with Villagers.
Facilitates weekly support group meetings using effective facilitation techniques and excellent time management skills; creates a safe, nurturing, and confidential space that allows for participant sharing, vulnerability, and connection. Is willing to participate in facilitator training.
Stays up to date on relevant internal and external resources and shares relevant resources as needed with group participants; as needed, connects participants with KPP staff and providers.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to schedule participation of “Village Experts”
Creates, distributes, reviews, and analyzes program evaluations.
Reflects and critically thinks on ways to evolve and improve the program.
Committed to excellence, best practices, and compassionate care with every patient and co-worker.
Responsible to check and reply to KPP e-mails and communications frequently while working.
Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information using HIPPA privacy practices
On occasion may be responsible for teaching others or allowing students to shadow daily activities.

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to provide timely follow-up and meet deadlines
• Ability to prioritize tasks and ask for help/information/resources when needed
• Knowledge of Kids Plus Pediatrics and the Breastfeeding Center of Pittsburgh’s providers, websites, policies and available informational resources
• Desire to continually learn, change and grow and openness to feedback and coaching
• Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
• Formal training and direct experience as a birth and/or postpartum doula, and/or childbirth educator supporting individuals in the perinatal space including knowledge of childbirth and the postpartum period required
Physical Demands:
• Work is performed in an office or virtual setting.
• Travel between offices may be required.
• Have the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity needed to operate an iPad, computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
