What You'll Be Doing
Lead global rail logistics procurement strategy, aligning with country teams and analyzing performance indicators.
Drive cost optimization through market benchmarking, insourcing vs. outsourcing analysis, and contract management for rail operations.
Negotiate supplier contracts and develop should-cost models to identify savings opportunities across regions.
Manage North American logistics procurement, including inbound/outbound transport, warehousing, and third-party carrier performance.
Champion digital sourcing initiatives and process optimization through e-auctions and logistics tools.
Advance sustainability goals by implementing green logistics strategies and collaborating with suppliers on ESG standards.
Mitigate logistics risks through continuity planning and ensure compliance with safety, trade, and industry regulations.
What Are We Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Studies, Business Administration, or related fields; Master’s preferred.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in procurement, logistics, or freight forwarding with a strong record in strategic sourcing and supplier management.
Deep expertise in transportation logistics, including cost structures, regulatory standards, and industry practices.
Strong analytical skills in market research, cost modeling, and spend data analysis to support strategic decisions.
Proven ability to develop sourcing strategies and lead cross-functional initiatives.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with leadership qualities and a proactive, results-driven mindset.
High adaptability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally to support global logistics operations.
Work Environment
This role operates in a dynamic, global environment with cross-functional collaboration across procurement, supply chain, and operations teams. Flexibility to work across time zones and occasional travel may be required.
