**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **Job Title:** Groundskeeper Technician **Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day **Position Highlights:** + **Competitive salary** + **Benefits –** Medical, Dental & Vision, PTO, Free Parking, Metro Access, Tuition Reimbursement, 403(b) + **Quality of Life:** Flexible work schedules + **Advancement:** Career growth opportunities + **Location:** Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD **Description:** + Full Time - Rotating - 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, with weekend availability. + Location: Silver Spring, MD + Maintenance Department + Maintain the upkeep and appearance of the hospital landscape and parking garages. + This position reports to Plant Operations Manager **Responsibilities:** + Perform daily trash removal as well as garage sweeping using a power sweeper shovel and broom, periodic weeding, pruning, cultivating and care for all garden plants, flowers, trees, bushes, shrubs and disposal of leaves and branches. + Determine appropriate design and appearance concepts through the seasons. + Perform light (small area) grass trimming and snow/ice removal. Arrange and oversee lawn cutting and snow removal activities. + Operate and test irrigation system, landscaping, pressure washer and street cleaning equipment. + Works with routine cleaning and grounds care chemicals some of which can be hazardous. Must be able to repair/replace damage fencing at Holy Cross Properties. + Resolve light electrical issues at garages and HCH properties. + Oversee landscape company as they perform landscaping duties at Holy Cross Properties. **What you will need:** + Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. **Required:** + 1-3 years of landscaping experience in the field. + 1-3 Year Maintenance experience or equivalent. + Ability to plan, organize and implement tasks independently. + Some familiarity with care of shrubbery, lawns, and flowers. + Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English. + Ability to operate power equipment. + Able to hear and verbally communicate through use of telephone, technical equipment, public paging, two-way radios, pocket pagers, for essential duties involving receiving and giving information. + Weekend work and shift rotation (one evening shift per week is planned other occasional rotation may be necessary) **_Pay Range: $17.89 - $25.04_** Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
