**Position Description:**
Performs manual work in the operation of heavy, medium, and light mobile equipment, and the maintenance of all such equipment pertaining to assigned area. Adherence to robust safety practices and compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations are responsibilities of all employees.

**Major/Essential Functions:**
+ Be able to perform moderate to heavy physical work in all weather conditions.
+ Properly maintain trees and shrubs on all Texas Tech properties, including, but not limited to the lifting, cleaning, shaping, and removal of dead.
+ Must be able to operate and maintain large and small equipment, chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, loaders in a safe manner using proper PPE's.
+ Able to work in high places with the assistance of bucket trucks and lifts.
+ Work duties as essential personnel and present during all emergency situations.
+ Always ensure and maintain a safe working environment.
+ Be able to assist with all other crews as needed.

On-call for emergency maintenance or to assist in campus preparation in inclement weather or hazardous weather conditions.

**Required Qualifications:**
Eighth grade education or equivalent plus two years related experience in the operation of medium mobile equipment. Commercial drivers license or willingness to obtain such a license. Additional job related experience may substitute on a year-by-year basis for required education as long as applicant possesses desired reading and writing skills.
