**Overview**
The Grounds Manager supervises the grounds crew in all aspects of grounds work, maintenance, equipment, and supplies. The Manager takes the lead in developing training standards and training staff members. The manager holds regular department meetings to share and gather information and ensures daily start-up and closing meetings for smooth daily operations. The manager is also responsible for payroll, work order management, training, and scheduling. Sports Field Management experience is a plus.
**Location:** Spring Branch ISD
**Schedule:** Monday through Friday, 6am - 4pm, Saturday & Sunday as needed
**Pay:** $80,000.00 annual salary

**Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:**
+ High school degree and three to five years of related ground experience (turf maintenance is a plus), including three years of supervisory experience.
+ A certificate of a program in landscape maintenance, design, and horticulture. Individuals might also benefit from other professional certifications in groundwork. Relevant experience in grounds work is acceptable.
+ Computer literacy is a must. Must be able to work with Word, Excel, Greenius, ABM payroll system, ABM procurement system, and Outlook
+ Current driver’s license for the state of Texas. A valid commercial class B motor vehicle license would be welcome.
+ Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of this job, including any heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods.
+ Must demonstrate and hold staff accountable for a first in class safety program as prescribed by ABM. Able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
+ Must have good verbal and written communication skills and a cheerful attitude for guest service and team member relations.
+ Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
+ Irrigator or pesticide license for State of Texas a plus.
**Additional Requirements:**
+ Knowledge and ability in the maintenance of ground equipment, etc., are needed as this position requires hands-on work and oversight of these types of tasks.
+ Must desire to provide exceptional clients, employee, and vendor service skill set, have excellent organizational skills, and work well under pressure with various people.
+ Help plan, schedule, assign, and supervise the grounds crew as required.
+ Able to proactively Supervise grounds maintenance crew in campus clean-up projects and assist in special events projects as required.
+ Make recommendations for modifications/procedures.
+ Perform periodical inspections of all assigned work areas.
+ Instruct employees on the proper methods and safe use of equipment.
+ Operate all ground-related equipment as required.
+ Ensure proper routine maintenance is performed on all motorized equipment, daily start-up and shut-down procedures, use and maintenance of equipment and tools, shop cleanliness, etc.
+ Report to work as required under emergency conditions, as necessary.
+ Supervise the care and maintenance of lawns, shrubs, and hedges, tree removal, planting, spraying, and weed eradication.
**Safety:**
The ground manager is accountable for the safety of public persons and ABM staff. He Must ensure that all personnel share an equal and significant role in ensuring their safety and those around them.
