Position Overview

As a DZ driver with Davey Tree you will be responsible for ensuring the crew and equipment arrive at the job site safely and on time. Once at site you will join the rest of the crew; providing your in-depth knowledge and skills to ensure the job gets done right and on time.

Job Duties Drive a commercial truck with crew and equipment to various job sites Perform and log daily pre and post trip inspections Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader. Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Assist the trimmers and foreperson in job site setup, debris removal and cleanup. Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy. Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems. Removal of hazardous trees. Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more. Qualifications Valid provincial driver’s license (DZ) 1-3 years experience. Arborist certification an asset or willingness to work towards. Strong tree, knot and shrub identification skills. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Ability to work safely as part of a team and possess the willingness to learn and progress. Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping. Additional Information $23.00 - $25.00 / Hour Full time.
