Job: Grinding Utility

Shift: Nights

Location: Royal Canin (Freemont, NE)

Role

The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities.  This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area.  Production Operators must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement.  Production Operators must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed.  This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Operate receiving, mixing, grinding, material handling, food preparation and cleaning equipment and systemsOperate equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all timesPerform Food Preparation activity according to production and planning schedules and requirementsPerform required QC checks and/or analysis on each delivery and production of materials for processingReceive and unload raw materials and supplies from delivery equipmentProvide and perform material receiving and storage data entry and reporting as requiredPerform periodic and routine inventories of raw materials in storageProvide and perform routine maintenance checks on equipmentAssist in other production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality activity in other areas as directedPerform housekeeping and sanitation proceduresProvide functional communication with other staff members as necessary to optimize quality, efficiency, productivity and safety

Physical/Environmental Requirements

Standing on a concrete floorWearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform)Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55lbsMust be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust dirt and chemicalsVision correctable to 20/20

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Be 18 years of age or olderHave a High school diploma, GED or equivalent educationMust be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedulesAbility to understand and effectively communicate in the English language

Knowledge / Experience

3+ years of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines2 years of work experience within manufacturing, or a technical and/or trade disciplineDemonstrated competency in computer and pc software including MS Office and emailKnowledge of inventory control principlesAbility to operate a forklift and scissor lift
