We have an outstanding Contract position for a Grinder Operator to join a leading Company located in the Washington, MO surrounding area.
Job Responsibilities:  Processing of titanium sheets through grinders to meet customer specifications.Measure and label test strips for processing.Mark and label sheets for Shear tests.Identify and mark defects.Calculate proper etch rates/removals per customer specifications.Pull and maneuver titanium sheets through the pickle tank.Load and unload skids with forklift from tables.Safely fill a new acid tank with Hydroflouric acid and/or nitric acid or DeSmut per Standard Work Procedure (SWP).Maintain and record temperature of the acid tank and caustic and pH levels for scrubber.Safely operate dryer.Safely maintain HR and Nitric Acid levels to tanks.Provide daily acid samples.Safely discharge spent acid or water from tanks.Use a micrometer, thickness gauge (vidigauge), and tape measure to measure thickness and dimensions before and after etching process to ensure correct removal has been achieved.Training of other employees.Moves skids of titanium sheet with forklift.Will physically lift and move titanium sheets in and out of the grinders with the help of conveyors and will physically need to flip and turn the titanium sheet.Will visually self-inspect the sheet surface and use a grinding tool to remove any defects.Will use a micrometer and thickness gauge (vidigauge) to check the thickness of the titanium sheet.Performs minor grinder maintenance.Performs periodic cleaning of grinder and work area.Sets up machines and observes machine operation to detect any malfunctions and installs large belts on grinders.Training of precision sheet helpers and grinder operators.Other duties as assigned.
Basic Hiring Criteria:High School Diploma or equivalent.
