Job DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities Analyzes work orders, blueprints, sketches, models, and/or descriptions to visualize shape of a part or tool and determine material requiredInputs dimensions, plan layout, and determines assembly method of sequence of operationResponsible for heat treating components as necessaryCuts, shapes, and trims prototypes to specified length or shape by using appropriate Tool Room equipmentLayout stock for machiningSets up and operates machine tools such as milling machine, lathe, and grinder, to machine parts and verifies conformance of machined parts to specificationsInspects and verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearancesExamines current or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of partLight development of specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product using NXPromote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
