Visual/Graphic Designer

DOC has a long term contract for a Visual/Graphics Designer in Richmond, VA.
This position is an exciting opportunity for a creative and talented designer to work on a variety of projects, help shape the agency's image, and have an impact on very visible agency initiatives.
The ideal candidate for the position will:
• translate requirements, comps, and low-fidelity wireframes into visual designs for web and print
• design infographics, fact sheets, brochures, posters, and document templates for print
• design page elements (icons, banner images, charts/graphs) for our intranet, public website, social media sites, and web based applications
You must have:
• a portfolio that demonstrates overall excellent design skills including a sound understanding of typography, color, and layout
• experience with web design (and a basic understanding of HTML and CSS to facilitate project discussions)
• experience with print design
• experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
It would be really nice if you:
• have experience designing for both commercial and government projects
• know how to create document templates using Microsoft Office
• are capable of taking good (or great) photographs
• have any motion graphics experience
