As a key member of the Operations and Facilities Management Department, the incumbent plays an important role in supporting internal and external communication initiatives by producing high-quality visual materials that align with Wits University's branding and strategic goals. This role focuses on the conceptualisation, design, and production of a variety of printed and digital content to promote the Operations and Facilities Management Departmental initiatives, enhance stakeholder engagement, and support operational efficiency.Brief DescriptionDesign and LayoutDesign and produce a range of printed and digital publications, including client- specific design requests from the Printing UnitCampus maps printed and digitalSignageRange of other digital collateralsAny other type of design request eg interactive and web responsive collateralDesign office door tags and lift direction boards for operations and general maintenanceCollaborate with the Wits Web Design team to develop, update, and maintain departmental websites and intranet pages, ensuring content accuracy and alignment with institutional standards.Client LiaisonMaintain professional and good relationships with all Wits clients and Brand managerEnsure service ethics are upheld and that their design needs are clearly understood.Meet client deadlinesAdvice on best design practiceProduction and ReproUnderstand the technical process of repro and print to ensure the correct outcome is achieved e.g. data compression, data conversion, scanning of images, digital prints.QA on material supplied and signing off proofs prior to print.Supplier Management and LiaisonObtain appropriate and correct number of quotes depending on scale of projectSupplying to client and advising on best approach.Required Academic Qualification/s (and Professional Registration/Trade where applicable):Grade 12Three years Graphic Design Diploma, Bachelors Degree in Graphic Art/Design (advantageous).
