The Employee Relations (ER) team is seeking a Graphic Design Specialist who is passionate about inventing meaningful visual experiences that have positive global impact and improve the lives of our operations employees. Drawing from associate insights, industry trends and business requirements, you will be responsible for understanding how employee experience related campaign visuals resonate with operations associates, developing visual solutions and managing a robust database of existing visuals. Strong storytelling and presentation skills are essential, as this designer will need to clearly communicate the design strategy, outcomes, and deliverables to diverse stakeholders. This role also includes a Project Management element which includes managing and updating a library of communications materials. You must thrive in ambiguity and be comfortable making high-judgment calls throughout the design process, including deciding when to use existing visuals, when to design new ones, and when to escalate risks or pivot from the plan. This role will serve as the graphic design SME, working closely with stakeholders across the ER organization to inform and educate diverse audiences.
The ideal candidate is an experienced visual communicator with excellent design skills and experience scaling and managing and directing design resources. Previous experience working with agencies and designing and measuring visuals targeted at internal employees on employee experience topics is highly preferred, in addition to a strong understanding of the current digital content landscape. This person will have oversight over multiple simultaneous employee communication campaigns. They should be able develop materials under tight deadlines using a mix of audience data, learnings from prior campaigns, and ground-level insights to create resources for multiple teams. They will also be responsible for ideating and generating original, compelling content for internal audiences, focusing largely on high-risk sites.
This is an individual contributor role reporting into an ER Communications Strategist. Candidates should feel comfortable working with data to understand audience interest and use that to guide strategy. However, they should also embrace innovative storytelling and experiment with new types of content. They should also be an excellent communicator who should be able to galvanize multiple stakeholders around a successful content approach. They should be a strategic, global thinker; goal oriented; and enjoy working in a fast-paced, start-up culture.
Key job responsibilities
• Maintain library of visuals that increase the scalability of high-quality designs.
• Handle quick-turn design edits on digital graphics, banners, and posters, while focusing agency time on the most complex, impactful work.
• Partner with communications agencies to bring complex concepts to life through various mediums (e.g., motion, video, animations, static, photography).
• Oversee the end-to-end design process for active campaigns and ensure projects meet the required standards and objectives.
• Partner with research agency to test visuals for impact.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external design teams, providing guidance and feedback.
• Review design deliverables, ensuring they meet needs and expectations.
• Comfortable with all phases of the innovation design lifecycle (e.g., discovery, ideation, prioritization, refinement and building a narrative to share broadly).
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, customer needs and competitive landscape to inform design strategy
• Working in a small team of highly skilled individuals, you relish collaboration to push ideas but can also work autonomously.
• Utilize strong storytelling and presentation skills to clearly communicate the design strategy, outcomes, and deliverables to diverse stakeholders
