Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year **Job Summary:** The **Grants Specialist** actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Under the supervision of the Senior Grants Officer, the Grants Specialist manages a grant prospect research process and identifies, researches, and evaluates the feasibility of potential grant funding prospects for AdventHealth Central Florida Division's campus and system needs. The Grants Specialist also supports the Senior Grants Officer with developing and writing timely grant proposals, including gathering required materials, program information and data to support the request; as well as writing thank you letters. Works with grantees to track progress toward meeting grant deliverables and writes grant reports. Maintains accurate records of grant budget expenses and coordinates grant fund disbursements with Foundation Finance and AdventHealth departments. **You Will Be Responsible For:** + Manages a system of researching grant opportunities from national, regional, and local foundations, corporations, and other philanthropic sources. + Identifies, researches, and evaluates the feasibility of potential grant prospects as matches for campus and system needs. Monitors proposal submission deadlines to ensure timely submission of requests. + Consults and coordinates with Senior Grants Officer, program officers, medical staff, and administration to identify AdventHealth Central Florida program areas suitable for grant support. + Works independently and in collaboration with the Senior Grants Officer to research, develop, write, and submit competitive grant proposals that contribute to the goals and objectives of AdventHealth programs. Verifies eligibility criteria, and carefully follows proposal guidelines; collects, analyzes, organizes, and articulates factual information on diverse grant topics to establish need and create a persuasive case for support; collaborates and coordinates with AdventHealth and community partners and team members to develop and collect organizational and programmatic information; writes, edits, assembles, and submits grant packages. + Works with AdventHealth departments to track progress toward meeting grant deliverables, composes grant report narratives and report budgets. Assists in finding workable solutions if challenges arise and keeps Senior Grants Officer informed of recommendations and plans. + Maintains accurate records of grant budget expenses, ensures payment authorization vouchers have proper back-up for expenses, and coordinates timely grant fund disbursements with Foundation Finance and AdventHealth departments. + Maintains a system of acknowledging grants and refusals with thank-you letters and internal documentation. + Keeps abreast of the latest developments in the grant making community by attending professional meetings, workshops, and seminars, as appropriate. + Other duties as assigned.
