Description We are looking for an experienced Grant Accountant to join a dynamic non-profit organization in Los Angeles, California. In this Contract-to-permanent role, you will play a vital part in managing grant-related financial activities, ensuring compliance, and maintaining the integrity of financial records. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful causes while leveraging your accounting expertise. Responsibilities: • Record and post financial transactions accurately within the general ledger system. • Reconcile account balances and bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. • Assist with month-end closing processes and prepare detailed monthly financial statements. • Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and regulatory procedures. • Analyze financial transactions to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies. • Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation. • Support budget preparation and financial planning efforts for grant-related projects. • Resolve accounting discrepancies promptly and maintain accurate financial records. • Uphold confidentiality standards when handling sensitive financial information. • Contribute to other finance-related projects and initiatives as required. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and grant management. • Proficiency in accounting software such as Abila MIP, ADP, and Bloomberg Terminal. • Experience with budget processes and auditing procedures. • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. • Certifications in accounting, such as CPA or CMA, are preferred.
