In this role, the Grain Marketer will proactively collaborate closely with local producers to enhance their grain marketing strategies by leveraging Legacy Farmers’ comprehensive marketing programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong decision-making abilities, excellent communication skills, and a self-motivated work ethic.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Assist local producers in effectively marketing their grain and identify new account opportunities. Educate producers on market trends, updated grain quotes, grain programs, policies and help develop personalized train marketing plans. Collaborate with the Grain Division team, including Grain Marketers, the Grain Operations Manager, the Vice President of Grain, Transportation Manager, and Accountants, to facilitate information exchange. Execute daily hedging activities and support the Vice President of Grain in merchandising functions. Collaborate with fellow grain marketers, administrative staff, and the VP of Grain to coordinate various grain marketing programs. Provide exceptional customer service and cultivate enduring relationships with current and prospective clients.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred background in agricultural business or experience in the grain industry. Proficient computer skills. Must be responsible for assigned equipment, including a laptop. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Committed to upholding Legacy Farmers Co-op’s Credit and Safety policies. Flexible and willing to adapt to varied hours during peak business seasons as required. Customer-service focused with strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
