Your future duties and responsibilities:

We’re looking for a Graduate Project Control Officer (PCO) to join our supportive team and help deliver key projects that matter to Australia’s national interests. This position is based in Canberra, ACT.

As a Graduate PCO, you'll support experienced project and program managers by helping ensure projects stay on track — on time, on budget, and within scope. You'll learn how to support key project processes and build a strong foundation in project coordination and delivery.

You’ll be involved in:
Project planning: Helping to create and maintain schedules and timelines.

Tracking progress: Monitoring milestones, deliverables, and updates across projects.

Financial coordination: Assisting with budgeting, invoicing, and cost tracking.

Reporting: Creating status updates, reports, and documentation.

Team support: Helping onboard new team members and keeping resource plans up to date.

Risk and issue tracking: Supporting risk management and escalation processes.

Tools: Learning and using project tools like Microsoft Project, Excel, and SharePoint.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

> Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset.

> Good organisational and time management skills.

> Confidence working with different people and teams.

> Comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).

> Good written and verbal communication skills.

> A willingness to learn and solve problems as part of a enthusiastic team.

Qualifications and Requirements
> A degree or diploma in Business, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field.

> Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain or hold NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory).

> Any project management exposure (e.g. internships, university projects, certifications like PRINCE2 Foundation or CAPM) is a plus, but not essential.
