Review the position below and apply today. **Job Summary** Dominion’s **System Operations Center (SOC) Engineering** department is seeking a motivated individual to support the Company’s evolving transmission grid. Our team is responsible for the reliable operation of our Energy Management System (EMS), providing engineering support for operational events, and evaluating and commissioning new software and tools for use within the SOC. Interns will have the opportunity to work with experienced team members to assist with the configuration, administration, and maintenance of our EMS the use Synchrophasor Applications in real-time operations, and gain knowledge and experience in areas such as Network Applications, Operator Tools, System Modeling, and more. Specific assignments may include the following: + Support the development of situational awareness tools in the control operations room + Support the de _v_ elopment of advanced PMU based applications + Write code to automate tasks + Write code for, and perform, data analysis + Enhance, debug, test and validate existing applications + Develop documentation such as software application manuals and training documentation + Participate in internal meetings with project management **Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience** + Comprehensive understanding of AC/DC fundamentals, including an understanding of three-phase power systems + Technical skills and knowledge, including familiarity with common Power Systems software (e.g. PSS/E, PowerWorld, PSCAD, CIMSpy, Matlab) + Fundamental understanding of the role and function of a System Operating Center and the roles of a Transmission Owner (TO), Transmission Operator (TO), Regional Transmission Operator (RTO), Balancing Authority (BA), and other roles related to operating the bulk electric grid + Experience and familiarity with Programming languages/Markup languages/Scripting Languages such as HTML5, CSS, SQL, JavaScript, C#, .NET Programming, Visual Basic, C++, Python, PowerShell, XML + Equally effective working independently or in a team environment + Strong oral and written communication skills + Time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments + Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems + Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices **Education Requirements** + Must have earned a bachelor’s degree in an engineering field and be accepted to and pursuing a master’s or Ph.D. degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited Engineering program at a four year or post-graduate college or university. + Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering majors are preferred. + Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher. + Must have a graduation date of Spring 2027 or later. **Test Description** No Testing Required **Export Control** Certain positions at Dominion Energy may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
