Graduate Intern - Clinical Infrastructure Specialist

The Opportunity 

As our Clinical Infrastructure Specialist intern, you will support our healthcare facilities design team in transforming clinical laboratories through innovative physical space solutions. The intern will contribute to projects that optimize laboratory workflows, enhance safety, and improve efficiency through thoughtful architectural and engineering interventions. Some of the responsibilities would be:

Assist in the assessment and documentation of existing laboratory spaces and infrastructure

Support the creation of technical drawings and 3D models for laboratory renovation projects

Help develop space utilization plans that align with clinical workflow requirements

Participate in site visits to understand spatial challenges in laboratory environments

Contribute to technical specifications for construction and equipment installation

Assist in monitoring compliance with healthcare facility regulations and standards

Support the preparation of project documentation for stakeholder presentations

How Would Your Day-to-Day Look Like?

Collaborating with architects and engineers to develop laboratory floor plans using revit software

Visiting clinical sites to take measurements and document existing infrastructure

Creating visualization materials to help clients understand proposed spatial changes

Researching laboratory equipment specifications to ensure proper space allocation

Attending project planning meetings with multidisciplinary teams

Updating technical drawings based on feedback from laboratory staff and consultants

Learning about healthcare-specific building codes and their application

Checking construction documents for accuracy and compliance with design intent

Regular mentoring sessions to develop technical skills and industry knowledge

Who Are You?

Recent graduates with a University degree in Civil Engineering, \"Ingeniero de caminos\", Industrial engineer, Architectural Technology, or related fields.

A preferred Master's degree in Hospital Engineering or Healthcare Architecture, or specialized training in these fields - will be highly valued.

Someone with a keen interest in healthcare facility design and the unique requirements of clinical spaces

A detail-oriented individual with strong spatial reasoning and technical drawing abilities

A proficient user of AutoCAD, and Revit, or similar design software with eagerness to enhance these skills

A creative problem-solver who enjoys optimizing spaces for both functionality and user experience

An effective communicator who can translate technical concepts into clear visual representations

Someone who appreciates the intersection of design, technology, and healthcare

Ideally, a person with a basic understanding of building systems and construction methodology
