Preferred Student Classification Graduate Student Nature & Purpose of Position The Graduate Research Assistant will support research projects within COM. The role involves assisting in the BSL II Lab, assisting with implementation, and analysis of research studies, contributing to the various projects as needed, including support within the Gross Human Anatomy Lab. The GRA will collaborate with faculty, staff, researchers, and student doctors, contributing to advancing knowledge in the research focus area. The GRA may also be responsible for maintaining the Gross Human Anatomy Lab, including restocking PPE and ensuring all equipment is clean and functional for student use. The GRA will also assist with the preparation and preservation of cadaveric specimens for educational and research purposes. Other Requirements for the Position Adhere to ethical guidelines, safety procedures, and institutional regulations to ensure a safe and compliant research environment. Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols. Support risk management protocols to maintain a safe and secure environment for all users through preventative maintenance and knowledge of the facility emergency action plan. Assist in tracking facility usage, preparing reports, and maintaining operational standards. Collaborate effectively with both faculty and staff to cultivate a positive and productive work environment. Enforce departmental policies and procedures to ensure consistency and safety in and out of the various labs. Provide support to faculty and staff as needed and perform other tasks as assigned.
