With ongoing growth in large-scale projects such as substations, transmission lines, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), we are seeking a motivated Graduate Designer to join our Power Projects team in Underdale, SA.

This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience throughout the entire project lifecycle—from concept to commissioning. You will work closely with electrical, civil, and structural engineers to deliver critical infrastructure that supports Australia’s clean energy goals.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

Producing accurate, high-quality drawings that meet Downer’s CAD and documentation standards Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop electrical and civil designs Using tools like AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Autodesk BIM 360 to support digital delivery Participating in quality reviews and helping ensure compliance with client and industry standards Supporting integrated data workflows throughout the project lifecycle

ABOUT YOU 

You’re a curious and capable design graduate who’s ready to learn, contribute, and grow. Your toolkit includes:

A diploma in engineering or a related design discipline Familiarity with drafting tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation V8i/CONNECT, and BIM platforms Understanding of Australian Standards and drafting best practices Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a collaborative environment A self-starting attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for infrastructure
