Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) was established in 1998 and proudly serves over 1,700 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Position Overview
Mystic Valley is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Science/Math Teacher to deliver science instruction to students in Grades 7 through 12. The Science Teacher is responsible for implementing the school’s science curriculum, both in content and methodology.
Responsibilities
+ Design and implement lessons that reflect clear learning objectives and measurable outcomes
+ Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback, progress reports, and report cards
+ Administer standardized assessments as directed by the Science/Math Department Chair and Leadership Team
+ Collaborate weekly with colleagues in the Science/Math Department, including the Department Chair, to discuss curriculum planning, instruction, assessment, and data analysis
+ Maintain effective classroom management using the school’s assertive discipline model
+ Participate in all staff meetings and professional development activities
+ Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Science/Math Department Chair and/or Assistant Director
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, General Science, or a related field
+ Clear and professional oral and written communication skills
+ Strong ability to collect, interpret, and act upon data to support student growth
+ Experience writing reports, analyzing findings, and recommending instructional strategies
+ Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with students, families, and colleagues
+ Strong organizational, teaching, and leadership skills in a collaborative team environment
+ Understanding of relevant educational laws, policies, and instructional best practices
+ Ability to plan and implement lessons that meet district and school goals and adapt to student needs
+ Must pass all applicable MTELs within one year of employment
+ This is a full-time, annual position subject to yearly performance evaluation
