Current Need: McKesson is seeking a skilled and experienced Government Technical Proposal Writer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in crafting compelling, compliant, and persuasive proposals that effectively communicate our technical solutions to government agencies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of technical concepts, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise narratives.

  

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal Writing and Development

Develop and write high-quality RFx responses (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, Sources Sought Notices) that align with government requirements and highlight McKesson’s strengths.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to document and articulate technical solutions with clarity and consistency.

Enforce internal milestones and coordinate with contributors to ensure timely and accurate proposal submissions.

Participate in early-stage capture and business strategy development.

Content Organization and Presentation

Create and maintain proposal templates and a content library using technology tools to ensure relevance and accuracy.

Design graphics, charts, and visual aids to enhance proposal presentation and comprehension.

Continuous Improvement

Conduct research and stakeholder interviews to refresh and improve proposal content.

Share monthly RFx highlights with subject matter experts and stakeholders.

Lead “after action reviews” to incorporate feedback and lessons learned into future proposals.

Peer review and mentor junior proposal team members.

 Basic Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Minimum 5 years of experience writing government proposals.

Proven writing, editing, and organizational skills, including technical narrative development.

Ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Certification and/or experience with Shipley or other proposal development methodologies.

U.S. citizenship required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications 

Ability to travel, up to 10% may be requested for high priority opportunities.

Demonstrated experience with oral presentations and/or experience developing oral presentations.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$94,500 - $157,500
