Title: Government Relations Strategist
Facility: BayCare Systems Office (Hybrid)
**This position requires travel to Tallahassee throughout the year
Responsibilities:
Work to advance and support BayCare Health System's government relations agenda. Responsible for planning, supporting and implementing the government relations agenda under the direction of Vice President for Government and Community Relations, and the State and Federal Government Relations Managers. Responsible for developing strategy on advocacy. An integral component to the Government Relations Strategist will be to engage in advocacy, primarily at the state level. Be familiar with the levers to pull in Tallahassee in order to influence positive outcomes for BayCare's team members and patients.Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential; research and policy analysis skills are also critical, in addition to strong interpersonal skills. Travel to Washington, D.C. and Tallahassee will be required as necessary, as well as travel to BayCare hospitals and other facilities throughout BayCare's four county footprint including Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and Polk counties.

Experience:
Required - 5 years of experience in Government Relations, Legislative and/or Regulatory Process, Advocacy, Public Relations or Health Care Policy. Preference will be given to those with seven or more years in Government Relations, Legislative and/or Regulatory Process, Advocacy, Public Relations or Health Care Policy.
Education:
Required - Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Health, Communications, or Related FieldPreferred - Master's Degree in Political Science, Public Health, Communications, or Related Field
