Government Relations Manager
In this role, you will have a direct impact on Solstice’s business by influencing public policy, assisting business growth, and mitigating regulatory risks. You will be accountable for monitoring and analyzing legislative and regulatory developments, engaging with key stakeholders, and representing the company’s interests in government affairs. Your guidance will be essential in building strong relationships and partnerships to advance Solstice’s goals in the Latin America region. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** + Develop and execute the government relations strategy for the Latin America region. + Build and maintain relationships with government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders. + Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments in the region. + Advocate for incentives or funding opportunities, such as those related to nearshoring or sustainability. + Work with internal stakeholders to align government relations efforts with business objectives. + Provide guidance and facilitate to business units on government affairs matters. + Represent Solstice in industry associations and other external forums. + Facilitate the development and implementation of advocacy campaigns. + Engage in grassroots and coalition-building activities to advance Solstice’s goals. + Stay updated with political and economic developments in the region. **YOU MUST HAVE** + Minimum of 8 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or a related field. + Strong environmental and industrial safety regulatory expertise in Mexico, as well as experience working in conjunction with government agencies such as SEMARNAT, PROFEPA and SAT. + Experience in building and maintaining relationships with government officials and industry associations (e.g., CONCAMIN, CANACINTRA, AMCHAM, ANIQ, CEG, CCE, etc.) + Excellent communication and advocacy skills. + Strong thoughtful and strategic thinking abilities. + Strong knowledge of Mercosur, Alianza del Pacífico, and bilateral trade agreements. + Fluency in Spanish and English (fluency in Portuguese is a plus). **WE VALUE** + Bachelor’s degree in political science, International Relations, Law, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). + Experience in government relations in the Latin America region. + Knowledge of public policy issues and regulatory frameworks in the region. + Experience in managing government relations programs and campaigns. + Ability to navigate complex political and regulatory environments. + Strong negotiation and influencing skills. + Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with stakeholders at all levels. + Strong business acumen and insight of industry and markets. + Ability to travel as needed.
