We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a Satellite Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to join a dynamic satellite design team in Herndon, VA. This team is renowned for delivering innovative, cutting-edge security solutions to the United States Government, focusing on spacecraft payload and system development, ground control and operational software, embedded software, and unique cyber capabilities.
ResponsibilitiesFunction in an advisory or leadership role, participating in the planning and oversight of engineering problem resolution and implementation.Evaluate the integration of engineering solutions within the overall environment, overseeing documentation, testing, maintenance, and updates.Communicate with engineering professionals, solution users, and management throughout the development cycle, representing the company as a prime technical contact.Advise or direct the activities of assigned projects or programs to achieve technical objectives.Develop guidance, navigation, and control (GN&C) algorithms for satellite missions.Responsible for Rendezvous and Proximity Operations system design, implementation, simulation, and testing.Establish, maintain, and execute satellite attitude control simulation software.Analyze the stability and robustness of guidance and control algorithms using control theory and Monte Carlo simulations.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or PhD in engineering or related technical discipline.Fifteen or more years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, thirteen or more years with a master’s degree, or ten or more years with a PhD.Extensive technical expertise in engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice.Project and/or program leadership experience, including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Experience in satellite attitude and orbit control systems.Experience with Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology in satellite systems.Experience with physics-based modeling of dynamic systems and Monte Carlo simulation analysis.Proficiency in developing software in C/C++ and Matlab/Simulink.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with STK and harness design.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $230000.00/yr.
