About you

We are looking for a General Manager - Operations to be based in our Auckland, New Zealand office. This permanent role reports to the Regional General Manager for Central and Southwest, Australasia.

You will be responsible for all operations of the company within New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. This includes Sales and Sales Management, Field Management, and Administrative Management in accordance with policies and the performance objectives

Key responsibilities

Responsible for complying with company EH&S policies and procedures, including reporting any conditions that may impact the environment or any employee.

Maintain and work to the Quality System including procedures and manuals and identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy the customers of your processes.

Manages and leads the managers in the formulation and achievement of their Business Plan objectives and specific local targets.

Coordinates and oversees communications between the NZ Operation and other Otis entities to ensure that activities are directed towards the achievement of our commitments to our customers.

Ensures that policies, procedures and control systems are in place and working to provide effective management of all resources and operations.

Manages the Country’s Incentive Programs and Project Management Program.

Plans for and ensures the succession of managers, workforce resources and team performance in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources Australasia and the Managing Director of Australasia. 

Represents New Zealand on the Australasian Executive Committee and on other committees as required.

Sets standards of performance and attainment for the immediate subordinates and makes these standards clear to all concerned. 

Ensures that direct and indirect reports are properly trained, managed and motivated to achieve the country/area objectives.

Authorises and approves expenditure in accordance with Policy F-1. Exercises control over the operations of New Zealand.

Sets pricing levels for all the products and services sold by the Company within the limits established from time to time by the Company.

What you will need to be successful

Has a minimum of 5 years of proven successful experience in Branch / Departmental Management with Otis.

A minimum of 5 years of functional leadership in New Zealand or another country. May have worked at “C” class level and/or General Management, small to medium-sized firm.

You have worked within a large, matrixed company environment and have a proven sales and operations track record for developing teams and building long-lasting client relationships.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrates a strong ability to deal with and influence people at all levels.

Have good time management skills, excellent attention to detail, and are results-driven.
