We are now looking for a 

 

 

General Manager, Sales Development Europe South

 

 

to lead Energy Business strategic objectives in South Europe as well as act as responsible Business Development Manager for the countries Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo and Greece.

 

 

What will you be doing

 

Lead the team of Business Development Managers in South Europe Develop the sales team according to set directions and goals Responsible for forecasting of sales volumes in South Europe Define and execute country action plans together with team members Manage, monitor, and develop the sales projects with team members. Identify and develop relationships with potential customers. Ensure high level customer relationship management Maintain and further develop present assigned customer relationships. Organize and participate in relevant sales meetings with customers. Identify, report, and manage potential risks detected in the assigned projects. Understand/review/approve opportunity cost budget Proactively work to enable cross-divisional and cross-organizational cooperation throughout the sales process Ensure compliance of our sales activities with Wartsila internal business processes Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts Active engagement with local and global consultants to promote and educate on Wärtsilä solutions Active engagement with local governments and utilities to promote and educate on Wärtsilä solutions Create and identify opportunities in cooperation with regional sales teams Negotiate project and coordinate financing arrangements with collaboration of Wartsila Finance team Work with internal and external experts (technical, financial, legal, environmental, etc.) in order to maximize the competitiveness of Wärtsilä solutions.

 

 

You will shine in this role when you have:

 

BSc or MSc or equivalent in a technical or commercial degree Minimum 10-15 years working experience in sales / project management within Wärtsilä Excellent understanding of the energy business. Have the knowledge of Wartsila business, familiar of the power sector views and energy challenges. Understand business objectives and customer value creation Strong drive for performance with positive attitude and can-do mind-set in an environment of multiple, changing priorities Communication, cooperation and influencing skills, experience in working in a matrix organization Ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams Advanced skills in facilitation, presentation and problem-solving skills Good presentation and networking skills Strategic oriented mind-set, positive and analytical approach Financial knowledge and contractual & legal skills (ability to draft).
