Global Vice President, Bulk Chemical Distribution

 

The Global VP, Bulk Chemical Distribution is a strategic executive leader responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, and customer success for our 6 bulk inorganic products. They oversee the development and execution of high-impact commercial strategies, foster key client and producer relationships, and lead high-performing sales and product management organizations. With deep industry expertise and a data-driven approach, this role will partner closely with peers to align commercial initiatives with competitiveness and growth in the market.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Create and implement strategic industry business plans to grow Univar Solutions’ market share position in bulk inorganic products. Maintain P&L responsibility for the performance of bulk inorganic products. Achieve in-year financial goals, including sustainable, profitable growth and market share gains through a culture of accountability and performance. Monitor and respond to market dynamics, customer feedback, and supplier capabilities to proactively adjust sales and sourcing strategies. Identify and build the case for investments to drive business performance. Balance long-term strategic planning with agile, day-to-day execution to ensure responsiveness to market shifts and customer needs. Cultivate and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers and major chemical producers/suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships, satisfaction, and revenue growth. Ensure cross-functional collaboration to drive and support sales across other teams such as Local Chemical Distribution and Corporate Accounts, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. Ensure supply chain optimization in cooperation with Operations/Transportation lead to meet customer needs and cost-to-serve. Support a culture of engagement and high performance that that aligns with Univar Solutions’ values. Hire and develop talent, coach objectively for performance and skill development, provide candid feedback, and ensure a high impact organizational structure with the right people are in the right roles for business success.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 

10+ years of commercial leadership experience, including sales, marketing, product management, and P&L ownership. Strong understanding of chemical distribution, especially Univar Solutions’ bulk offerings (e.g., Sodium BiSulfite, Sulfuric Acid, HCl, Caustic Soda, KOH, Bleach). Proven ability to create and execute data-driven strategies using market intelligence, customer insights, and supplier dynamics. Skilled in translating complex data into actionable plans that drive performance and growth. Effective at both strategic and tactical levels, with agility in adapting to changing business conditions. Solid financial acumen, including interpreting financials and building investment cases. Track record of leading high-performing teams to exceed KPIs in volume, profitability, and retention. Strong communicator with credibility across matrixed organizations. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.

PAY & BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position is $241,000 - $314,000 and is eligible for incentive pay The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location Available employee benefits include health, vision, dental coverage, along with industry-leading retirement and time off programs; union benefits vary in accordance with the respective CBA
