Global Sustainability Team at Royal Canin (RC) is charged with spearheading the development, execution, and oversight of our comprehensive sustainability strategy across all RC business units and global regions, aligning with RC’s Divisional Priorities (Corp Strategy) and the Mars Sustainable in a Generation Plan.

The Global Sustainability Logistics Manager will lead initiatives to embed sustainability into the logistics and supply chain operations across the organization. This role will focus on reducing environmental impacts, optimizing sustainable transportation and warehousing practices, and ensuring compliance with global sustainability standards.

What are we looking for ?

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field.

5 years of experience (minimum) in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation, with a focus on sustainability initiatives.

Strong knowledge of sustainable logistics practices, carbon accounting, and emissions reduction strategies.

Experience working in a global or multi-regional organization with complex logistics networks. ·

Fluent in English

What would be your key responsibilities ?

Sustainability Strategy in Logistics

Develop and implement a RC global sustainable logistics strategy to decarbonize logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution

Identify opportunities to integrate circular economy principles, such as reverse logistics and waste minimization, into supply chain operations

Set and monitor KPIs related to carbon emissions, energy use, and other environmental impacts of logistics activities

Ensure that RC’s Sustainable Logistics Playbook is aligned with SIG4L’s playbook and strategies, coordinating the roll out of relevant information to the regional and local teams.

Cross segment collaboration on strategic plans, such as SiG4L playbook, hero projects, etc.

Collaboration with MGS teams to bring strategic solutions and partner where possible.

Optimization and Innovation

Partner with supply chain teams to optimize logistics routes, consolidate shipments, and reduce fuel consumption

Evaluate and implement sustainable transportation options, such as electric or alternative fuel vehicles, and collaboration with green logistics providers

Lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce waste in warehousing and distribution centers.

Act as Center of Excellence for logistics decarbonization levers (alternate fuels, intermodal, etc)

Sustainable Procurement

Support regions and markets in the procurement of logistics service providers with focus on sustainability. Collaborating with MGS on global tenders such as GOT, CBT, etc.

Maintain the Procurement Guide Markets guideline updated and support on the creation of Procurement Guides for Factories, with the support of AllChiefs.

Compliance and Reporting

Ensure logistics practices comply with international sustainability regulations, standards, and frameworks

Work closely with S&F, SC, and the Global Sustainability team to collect and analyze data to support reporting on logistics-related sustainability metrics for ESG disclosures and external stakeholders

Collaborate with the Sustainability Data team to provide accurate data for global reports, such as CDP, GRI, and TCFD

Streamline and enhance reporting processes for Eco Transit, ensuring accurate and transparent environmental metric tracking.

Support the rollout of new RC emission reporting guidelines, coordinate regional efforts, and ensure sustainable DiB reporting for enhanced process quality

Lead the quarterly review SteerCo meetings with the support of All Chiefs to track the progress, support where required and align on best practices between the regions.

Animate and coordinate the CAP initiative from Mars with the Regional Leads responsible for the Sustainable Logistics program at RC, harmonizing the data with the regular program and consolidating the information to report.

Coordinate with the Regional Leads to consolidate and report out to S&F @ Mars the quarterly spends on sustainability budgets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Influence

Work with internal teams, including procurement, operations, and sustainability, to align logistics practices with broader organizational sustainability goals.

Engage with external partners, including suppliers, logistics providers, and industry groups, to drive sustainability initiatives across the supply chain.

Training and Leadership

Formalize, automate, and improve training programs related to sustainable logistics, maintaining a updated training curriculum, identifying organizational needs, and tailoring materials accordingly.

Provide guidance and training to regional logistics teams on implementing sustainable practices.

Provide visibility of best practices in different markets and regions, supporting other units to find inspiration and knowledge to further develop their knowledge and roadmaps.

Act as a thought leader in sustainability within logistics, keeping the organization informed of emerging trends and innovations

Drive Innovation and Technology

Use benchmark opportunities to steal with pride and bring expertise to Regional Leads and market champions, through:

Smart freight center connection

Market players

Collaboration with Industry organizations such as SFBA (Sustainable Freight Buyers Alliance)

Attend sustainability forums focused on Logistics, to be bring to RC awareness of up-to-date alternatives and solutions in the area, analyzing potential and size of the prize.
